At the core of any great speech or presentation is a well-told story. Stories take us on a mental and emotional journey that connects the speaker with the audience. A valuable first step in learning how to tell an engaging story is through exploring and crafting tall tales.
In this class, students will listen to and explore the backgrounds of many beloved tall tales while learning what makes a story engaging, memorable, and exciting. With personalized guidance from their teacher, students will develop their own original tall tales while strengthening their creativity, storytelling, and presentation skills. Throughout the course, students will receive individualized feedback as they develop, refine, and practice their stories, culminating in a final presentation to their teacher.
Program Structure: Each specialty writing workshop contains ten one-hour lessons. Classes are held online via Microsoft Teams, and students receive personalized feedback to support their growth.

Continuing from Dramatic Storytelling Part I, students will explore and analyze additional tall tales while building on the storytelling skills they developed in Part I.
Students will create an original tall tale designed to take their audience on an exciting journey and strengthen the connection between speaker and audience. With individualized instruction and feedback, students will develop, refine, and practice their stories throughout the course before presenting their completed tall tale to their teacher during the final lesson.
Part I must be completed prior to taking Part II.
