Writing Symphony Attendance Policy
Effective May 1, 2025

At Writing Symphony, we value consistent attendance to support structured, effective learning. Our teachers dedicate time each week to their students, and we ask that families follow the attendance guidelines below.

Notification Requirement

We understand that illness and emergencies can occur. If a student will be absent, we ask that parents notify us at least 24 hours in advance whenever possible. Notifications can be sent via:

  • Email: support@writingsymphony.com
  • Text: (425) 490-8169

Group Class Attendance Policy

  • If a student is absent, a recording of the class will be provided.

Single-Student Class Attendance Policy

  • If we receive at least 24 hours' notice, the class will be rescheduled, and the program end date will be extended to ensure all lessons are completed.

  • If notice is not provided at least 24 hours in advance, the class is considered forfeited and will not be rescheduled.
    • The student will continue with the next scheduled lesson.
    • The program end date will remain unchanged.

Makeup Option for Single-Student Classes

  • In the event of a no-show, a notification will be sent to the parent offering the opportunity to purchase a makeup session at the standard hourly rate.

  • If the makeup session is purchased, the student will complete the missed lesson, and the program end date will be extended to accommodate all scheduled lessons.

  • If the makeup session is declined, instruction will resume with the next scheduled lesson.

Teacher Absences

If a teacher is unable to conduct a class due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make every effort to provide a substitute. If a substitute is not available, the class end date will be extended by one week to accommodate the missed material.
